General Visa Requirement
All
visitors traveling to Indonesia must be in possession of a passport valid for
at least six months from the date of arrival and have proof of onward passage
(either return or through tickets).
Visa Free - Short Visit
Citizens from these 11 countries and territories are eligible for a "Visa Free"
facility:
Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Hong Kong SAR,
Macau SAR, Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore.
This visa
is for purposes of holiday, exhibition,
tourism, business, and social-culture and valid for 30 (thirty) days, it could not be converted, extended or used
to obtain other immigration permits.
Visa on Arrival (VoA)
Visitors holding valid passports from
certain countries can obtain either 30 day visa at any of the 15 airports and
21 seaports designated by the Indonesian Immigration department. Arriving travelers with Visa On Arrival status have to go first to one of the 'VoA Counters' to
pay the appropriate fee and have their passports stamped with the VoA before
proceeding to the Immigration Clearance Desk. An official bank is part of the
VoA service counters. Payment of visa fees can only be made in US dollar bank
notes, Indonesian Rupiah equivalent.
The fee for this visa, payable upon landing,
is USD 25.00
for a 30-day visa.
Please note that
starting 26 January 2010, the 7 day Visa on Arrival has been discontinued.

Extend your VOA
The 30 days Visa on Arrival (VOA) are extendable
with another 30 days to be applied at any Immigration
offices in Indonesia. The cost of the 30-day extension is Rp 250.000. You will have to leave Indonesia and
return if you wish to stay longer than 60 days. Visa On Arrival can not be converted into a Temporary Stay
Visa.

Applying for Visas Before Arrival
Citizens of countries not included on a visa-free or
visa-on-arrival lists must apply for a visa overseas before arriving in
Indonesia. Citizens of any country wishing to stay more than 30 days must also
apply for an appropriate visa at their nearest Indonesian Embassy or Consulate
before travelling to Indonesia.
Other Classes of Visas for Temporary
Visitors
There are several other classes of visas
available to visitors to Indonesia:
- Transit Visa
The Transit Visa is a single entry visa for
a passenger in transit thru Indonesia on the way to a foreign destination, to a
country of origin, to join a transport vehicle that will continue its journey
outside Indonesia territory or to stop over because of emergency.
Transit Visa fee is USD
20.00 and can be given for up to maximum 14
(fourteen) days..
- Visit Visa
Visit
Visas are given to Regular Passport holders. There are several types of the Visit Visa,
based on the purpose of visit:
· Tourist
Visa (Single or Multiple
Entries)
You can
apply for a 30
day or a 60-day Tourist Visa at an Indonesian Embassy or Consulate before
travelling to Indonesia.
Visa fee
is USD 45.00
· Business
Visa (Single or Multiple
Entries)
This visa is given by an Indonesian Embassies abroad to
applicants visiting Indonesia for normal business activities (including
attending a conference/seminar) which do not involve taking up employment or
receiving any payments whilst in Indonesia. This visa, valid for a stay of 60
days, can be for a single or multiple visits. This visa is obtainable after
application by a sponsoring party in Indonesia to the Department of
Immigration.
Visa fee
is USD 45.00 (single entry) and USD 100.00 (multiple entries)

Social-Cultural Visa (Single or Multiple
Entries)
This visa is issued by as Indonesian Embassy abroad to
applicants who are going to Indonesia for a social/cultural visit, such as
visiting relatives/friends; social organizations; exchange visits between
educational institutions; undertaking research and attending training programs
in Indonesia. This visa is obtainable after application by a sponsoring party in
Indonesia to the Department of Immigration. The validity of this visa is for a 60 day
stay, but can be extended upon application in Indonesia. Visa extensions are up to 4 times for a total maximum stay
of ( 30 days each). Extensions
can be applied for and obtained in Indonesia from the Immigration Authorities.

is USD 45.00, extension fee is Rp 250.000
- Limited
Stay Visa
(KITAS)
The Limited Stay Visa is a single entry
visa for a visit that is related to work and to other purposes such as
investment, research, family unification, performance, sport, social
activities, retired/senior citizen, etc. The Limited Stay Visa will be granted upon authorization from the
Indonesian Immigration in Indonesia
Fees
for Limited Stay Visa are as follows:
Up
to 6 (six) months: USD 50.00
Up
to 1 (one) year: USD 100.00
Up
to 2 (two) years: USD 175.00
- Retirement
Visa
A temporary stay visa may issue to a
retired/senior citizen who wants to visit Indonesia and stay longer than 60
days. The special visa shall be valid for one year and could be extended for
not more than 5 (five) time consecutively. It means that this special visa
eligible for up to five years (extension subject to immigration approval).
Type of Visa Entry
Single Entry means that you could only use the visa one
time to enter Indonesia, and then the visa expired/void. The Indonesian Embassy
and the Consulate Generals may issue a Single Entry Visa for up to 60 days
visit.
The fee for single entry is
USD 45.00.
Multiple Entries means
that you could use the visa to enter Indonesia several times within one year
(the visa is valid for a year). However, the visitor could only stay no longer
than 60 (sixty) days in Indonesia. For the Multiple Entries, the applicant's
passport must be valid at least 1 year.
The fee for multiple entries is USD 100.00.
Validity of visa
Please be advised that Indonesian Visa must
be used within 90 (ninety) days from the Date of Issuance.
Be aware that Immigration officials
calculate the 30-day period as follows: your arrival day is counted as your
first day.
Overstaying
your visa period
Overstays are charged Rp 250.000
per day for over stays up to 60 days. Overstay violations over 60 days are
liable to 5 years imprisonment or a fine of Rp. 25 million. If
there are legitimate reasons for your overstay, like
illness or transportation problems there might be exemptions. If possible
report your overstay at the immigration office.
Special Facilities
A certain number of special facilities are being introduced in
connection with the new visa policy, including:
· Tour Agents are able to arrange express
handling for groups at no additional charge by presenting the completed
immigration cards, passports and applicable visa fee.
· Airlines that experience technical
difficulties or delayed flights can apply for their passengers to be exempted
from paying any "overstay" penalties.
CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
Prohibited Items
Weapons, narcotics and pornography are prohibited to bring into Lombok. Pets are strictly banned to prevent the
spread of rabies.
Alcohol & Tobacco
You are only allowed to bring a maximum of one liter of alcohol,
200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or 100grams of tobacco and a reasonable amount of
perfume into Indonesia. Photographic equipment, typewriters, laptop computers
and radios are admitted, provided that they are taken out on departure. All
these should be declared via a customs declaration form that must be completed
before arrival.
Currencies, Etc
Another subject is the import and export of currencies; one is
not allowed to import or export Indonesian currency exceeding Rp. 5 million. In
addition, the export of national treasures is frowned upon - genuine antiques,
tortoise shell, crocodile skins and ivory are not to be taken out of Indonesia
